Navigating Barriers and Opportunities
JULY 28 2018 1PM
National Underground Railroad Freedom Center | Harriet Tubman Theater
Rhodes Scholar, Camille “Mimi” Borders, is an emerging thought-leader and intellectual force. Borders, 21, is a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati and a Senior at Washington University in St. Louis. She will earn a master's degree in history from the world's oldest English-speaking university, the University of Oxford in England, with a focus on the trans-Atlantic slave trade and specifically how former slave-widows navigated their existence after the Civil War. This meaningful discussion will explore the critical work Borders is embarking on and how is it relevant to the current day struggle facing women of color.
